Hannah Everingham tours New Zealand in celebration of the release of her new single Mercury, her first national headlining tour since the release of her standout debut album, Between Bodies.
At Vogelmorn Hannah is joined by Pickle Darling, in celebration of Darling's new album Laundromat, out now on Father/Daughter Records.
Pickle Darling slots into the silhouettes of the ordinary and stretches them onto an entirely new canvas. Rather than labouring over each song like they had previously -- some songs on previous records were months and months in the making -- Mayo found themselves drawn to the spark of what had created the initial idea in the first place, merging writing for Laundromat into a daily practice. Citing writers like Lydia Davis and William Morris, as well as folk artists Connie Converse, Bill Fay and Vashti Bunyan as passengers in the process of Laundromat, Pickle Darling creates their own tiny worlds, but ones that are large enough to welcome anyone who might need them.
Shining with her tenderness, Hannah Everingham's Between Bodies quickly garnered the country’s attention, labelled a “truly wonderful, stunning debut” by Flying Nun Records, “feeling beamed out of a timeless sonic realm” by UTR, and described by Tony Stamp of RNZ as an album that “evokes some of our finest local folk musicians, and is absolutely worthy of inclusion alongside them”. The release soon saw Hannah performing alongside NZ legends Rob Scott & Francisca Griffin, and opening across the country solo & with her band for the likes of Tiny Ruins, Taite-prize winner Lawrence Arabia, Recitals, Terrible Sons & this July for Erny Belle.
Join Hannah across 3 special performances this August & September as she shares the new single ‘Mercury’, just 9 months since the release of her knock-out debut album....
