** About the film **
Set in sunny Nelson, Ben & bEartha is a film about composting! In the film, we get to know Ben – compost nerd, compost educator, instigator of his local Compost Club, and creator of bEartha, the machine that’s about to revolutionise regional composting.
The story follows the highs and lows as Ben and his team develop and install a composting machine that they hope will provide a replicable model for communities all over the world. Woven throughout this journey is the story of the Compost Club, a small-scale, volunteer-based composting initiative.
** Ticket sale proceeds to go to Kaicycle **
This film screening is hosted by Kaicycle Urban Farm, who are full-blown fans and adoring admirers of Ben, bEartha, community-scale composting and Happen Films.
All proceeds from ticket sales will support Kaicycle's ongoing operations and growth as it sets up its own in-vessel composting unit for Wellington!
** Come early to enjoy all Vogelmorn has to offer! **
Vogelmorn is open to the public from 3pm - 10pm on Thursday evenings, serving delicious zero waste kai and inu (food and drinks) from the in-house restaurant, Smoked & Pickled, and the bar upstairs.
We encourage you to take your time to enjoy all Vogelmorn has to offer and come along before the film screening begins to grab a bite to eat and a delicious tipple, before scoring the best seats in the cinematic house (film screening area will open from 7:15pm and the film will being promptly at 7:30pm). PLEASE NOTE:
The Vogelmorn Upstairs is not a wheelchair accessible building. There is an accessible bathroom in the space. This is an all ages venue but those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a designated adult. The Vogelmorn Precinct is a community space located in a residential area. With that in mind, the team ask that you be kind to others who are using the Vogelmorn spaces and that when you leave the film screening, you do so quietly to avoid disturbing our neighbours.
