DIRT Group | Monthly Community Resilience Project

In 2024 DIRT (Disaster Innovation Research and Training), a community resilience project with support from WREMO and Massey University, has practiced coming together after a major earthquake and talked composting toilets, how to build connections with neighbours and communication when networks are down.

In 2025 on January 26th 4-6pm at VBC we get to the really important issue of how to make a good coffee when the power, water and gas are off. Join us to see how it can be done (along with making tea and hot chocolate), judge the results, bring your setup to test.

If you’d like to see Julian Oliver’s talk on resilient communications it will be going up on Vimeo but in the meantime you can download it here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1p_hDf-nKi2JqyktXNrPJ0YX7HfE-Ym7O/view?usp=sharing
