Wellington-based folk trio the Bidibids are celebrating the release of their self-titled debut EP with a national tour. They’re kicking off in their home town with a double-header gig with their musical pals, Butter Wouldn’t Melt. It’ll be an evening of lush folk ballads, blazing banjos, soaring harmonies and musical connection.
Since 2021, the Bidibids have become regulars in the Wellington folk scene. With Sarah August on banjo and guitar, Simon Carryer on cello-banjo, and Brendan Schenk on mandolin and guitar, they are steeped in bluegrass and Americana, but inspired by the idea of creating an authentic home-grown folk sound.
Butter Wouldn't Melt will melt your heart with soulful stories, far-away fables and whimsical songs.
